Discussing 'The Project'
Lots to talk about from the Project; the Past, Present, and Future of Humanity, I'll begin simply by publishing the chats as they happen. If it gets unwieldy with a lot of dialog, I plan to organize the chats by subject. If you have any thoughts on the past, present, and future of humanity that you'd like to share with the world, please email me.
Political Systems"DD" from the Greenbrae CA, USA
From:
DD
Hi Mark, From your new book, “The Project” “Illusion: Personal liberty is the be-all and end-all of a good political system. Reality: A balance of liberty and equality makes a stable political system.” Yes. I'd also add "responsibility." Most "liberty" zealots haven't even put one and one together and don't realize that freedom means nobody's making your choices for you. Therefore you're solely responsible for your actions and their natural consequences. So freedom and responsibility are two faces of the same coin, and in a way it's too bad we have two separate words for them. I think to some extent traditional conservatism was closer to recognizing the responsibility inherent in freedom, but we don't hear much about that any more. As for libertarians, they may have some good ideas, but they prattle on about "tyranny" of government as if the democratic forms of government they claim to defend and promote in the world don't exist. And on top of that they utterly fail to recognize the tyranny of the private sector and prescribe no remedy for it. “Fascism rates liberty and equality low. Communist socialism rates liberty low, equality high. Capitalist democracy rates liberty high, equality low. Social democracy rates liberty and equality high…. So, the new American Dream will probably evolve toward social democracy, as enjoyed in much of Europe today.” That would be something to look forward to! I fear we'll probably have to pass through an era of much-diminished expectations (to put it politely) on the way there, but I suppose something like social democracy is inevitable. The alternatives are too gnarly to contemplate. “Maybe you can think of other examples of how the New American Dream is going to evolve?” One of the inherent problems with the American Dream is that it's completely devoid of the notion of an inner life, and is all about seeking "happiness" externally and artificially. Maybe that's one way the Dream can expand and evolve -- toward the use of leisure time toward more creative and spiritual ends. DD, Greenbrae CA
Hi DD, I agree with your reflections. While writing the book, I came to the idea that if people foster their noble side, then their everyday behavior becomes more and more of what most of us consider to be "responsible." So that as we develop our noble side and gradually subdue our savage side, "being responsible" becomes less of an effort or challenge, and more of a natural way of being. A semantic difference maybe. :-))) Also I like your assessment of the American way of life being mostly devoid of inner pursuits and more focused on material stuff (maya...illusion). Thanks for your good comments! Mark
Our Noble-Savage Nature"AB" from the USA
From:
AB
Dear AB, Thanks for that--the first feedback I've received about my book since its very recent publication. As far as the names of The Seven ethereal beings, they told us that they themselves don't really have names; they simply know each other by the imprints of their energy/consciousness. They devised names for themselves for our purposes, since we on Earth connect each other, our pets, and our spirit friends with names for the sake of familiarity. The names of The Seven are published in one of the Contact! journals. Six of the seven are: Technician, Ishkumar, Nsitden, Thfirrin, Mrekklin, and Lagelnev. The seventh might be Seth 3 or Isar, but I don't recall for certain. How they came up with those names, we haven't a clue!
Why Reincarnate?"IT" from
From:
IT Dear Mark,
Dear IT, Wow, not an easy question. Many people have many opinions. My opinion: Life in the physical realm is farthest removed (in vibration) from the Source, or God or Brahman or Allah. Since our world is so far removed from the Source, the Light or Love Consciousness of the Source does not reach here as strongly as it does in finer realms. There are many pockets of “darkness,” characterized by fear, doubt, malevolence, and so on. The physical body-mind is our soul’s vehicle to navigate here, and we have various finer body-minds (spirit bodies) inside us as well. I believe we (as souls) choose to spend lifetimes on Earth in physical bodies for the purpose of tuning into our finer selves (for example through meditation and good will), bringing the Light of God into our conscious minds, and “spraying” it out into this world through our positive thoughts, words, and actions. It is a rough life here on Earth compared to most of the finer realms. When we die, if we’ve led a decent life, we awaken in one of the finer worlds of the astral realm or dimension, and it is a time of rest, recharging, and recuperation in paradise surroundings. (There are also dark, troubled worlds which I call “the dismal realm” and other people call the “lower astral planes” or hell or purgatory. Troublesome people often awaken in those worlds and stay there for awhile before moving on to paradise where they belong.) Some people who awaken in paradise never want to leave, but we have been told through ITC contacts that their inner voice, often with the guidance of an ethereal guide, persuades them to come back to Earth for another lifetime. Some people say we reincarnate on Earth to learn more lessons; I prefer to believe that we have signed up (at the soul level) for “The Project” and so we keep coming back to try to make the physical realm a better place to live…by bringing more of God’s loving consciousness here through our thoughts, words, and actions. The battle between our noble (god) side and our savage (animal) side is very powerful once we get back into the human body with its ego and hormones, so I believe that is why the ethereal beings told us: “In the course of bygone decades, of thousands of earthly years, beings interested in human species meet to decide on the continuation of The Project.” In other words, is the age-old Project (the effort to bring the light of the Source into the physical realm) a feasible endeavor, or should we (collective souls) eventually give up, scrap the Project, and spend eternity in finer realms? That, of course, would be the ultimate “End Time” from the perspective of us on Earth. This view of things has given me in recent years a new-found urgency to help heal the world in whatever ways I can. :-) Love and Light, Mark
Modeling the Vitality Ratio"WS" from Windsor CO USA
From: WS Hello, Mark! Have you tried to construct your Vitality Ratio backwards, for the last 5-25 years? If you did, did you publish a chart? Have a Merry Christmas! WS
Hi WS, I thought about collecting statistics and building a model, but quickly abandoned the idea because of the project’s complexity and my limited access to the necessary data. I believe the vital records (people, products, and resources) would probably be sketchy and very difficult to round up, for some countries more than for others. Demographics, for example, are fairly detailed in most modern countries (population, birth rate, death rate, etc.), but with tourism and illegal migration, it’d would be real hard to get a clear picture of the “people” variable in any past given year, in most countries. Products and resources would be even harder to gather up into a clear picture. Products would involve pets and livestock as well as roads and bridges and commercial buildings, as well as homes and personal products . . . There are countless sources that would have to be tapped into. Resources would include air, water, fertile farmland, sunshine, hydrocarbon deposits, fish populations and migration patterns, as well as foreign products and resources that are available to a country. Much too complex for my little brain to handle! :-)))) Still, I’m extremely confident in the viability of the theory. It’s been simmering in my mind for the past 30 years. I know it could bring global stability on an unprecedented scale, now that we have the Internet. Great hearing from you, WS, and from JS about the amazing news out of Windsor—from the tornado devastation to the good old WHS marching band playing for Mr Obama next month! Wow. Mark
